Nishka Sardar – TechChannel 2025 IBM Z Rising Star

Nishka Sardar has been recognized as a 2025 IBM Z Rising Star by TechChannel, celebrating her growing influence within the mainframe community.

Nishka’s interest in mainframe technology began after attending the GSE UK In-person Conference as a student in 2023. She went on to lead the Mainframe Student Society at the University of Wolverhampton as President and won the University’s Cyber4me Cybersecurity Hackathon, showcasing her early technical talent.

In July 2025, Nishka joined Vertali as a New to Z (NTZ) Technical Consultant, where she is building expertise across z/OS, JCL, REXX and RACF security.

Alongside her role, she remains an active advocate for the mainframe ecosystem, presenting at the GS-UK 2025 Conference and IBM Z Day, and appearing on The Mainframe Community and TechChannel IT Social Hour podcasts.

Nominated by 2023 Rising Star Niall Ashley, who also works for Vertali, Nishka was praised as a driven and aspirational professional helping to shape the future of the mainframe community.
