Employee Spotlight: Marcus Chalklin

In this latest Employee Spotlight, we feature Technical Consultant, Marcus Chalklin.

New to Z team member, Marcus typically starts his day by reviewing ServiceNow tickets that have come in overnight, ensuring priorities are clear and requests are picked up quickly. He focuses on building his mainframe knowledge and experience, often spending time on Interskill training or shadowing live projects whenever possible.

With a strong work ethic and a natural problem-solving mindset, Marcus adds value by tackling challenges head-on and finding solutions efficiently. He’s especially skilled at getting to grips with unfamiliar tasks or technologies, and thrives when faced with something new.

A standout moment has been attending a z/VM event in Manchester, where he met with Velocity and Vertali colleagues at the Stock Exchange Hotel.

What Marcus enjoys most about working at Vertali is the friendly and sociable culture, whether that’s grabbing lunch together in the office or catching up at staff conferences, there’s a real sense of community.

His advice to customers is simple: the more detail you can provide in a request, the faster and more effectively the team can help.

Outside of work, Marcus is a big fan of Marvel comics, especially stories featuring The Punisher!
