Wilson’s Week

The last week has been extremely memorable for Vertali’s Mark Wilson.

First, he had a significant birthday. (Let’s just say it also marked 44 years working with mainframes, and he started in the industry aged just 16.) He then spent the next few days at SHARE Orlando 2024, which included presenting a Security & Compliance Session on ‘Ransomware on the Mainframe: Checkmate!’ as well as talking about zTrust software and network micro-segmentation. Mark’s passion is spreading the word about mainframes and cyber security in particular, which includes his work as UK Region Manager and Conference Manager for Guide Share Europe UK (don’t forget, the next GSE UK virtual conference is coming up in April).

Topping off the week, Mark was also recognized in the West Midlands Leadership Awards 2024, winning the category Company Leader (up to 100 employees). Organized by TheBusinessDesk.com, these awards celebrate the people in the region “who are role models within their organizations and raise the bar for their competitors.”
