Mainframe Shield Newsletter – November 2025

For instance, Sweden’s state-owned power grid operator, Svenska kraftnät, is investigating a ransomware breach by the Everest group, while the UK saw cyber insurance payouts more than triple in 2024 to £197 million due to increased ransomware attacks. In the US, the Congressional Budget Office reported a cybersecurity breach that prompted swift containment efforts. Plus, 2025’s wave of attacks exposed major vulnerabilities across public and private sectors, with warnings that America’s cyber defences are weakening amid political and structural challenges.
